On Saturday and Sunday, 27–28 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest, in collaboration with the Office of Commercial Affairs in Budapest and Thai food, product, and service entrepreneurs, organized the Thai Culture and Culinary Weekend on Edgar Quinet Street in the heart of Bucharest.

 

The event served as a pilot platform to showcase Thailand's rich arts and cultural heritage while promoting Thai tourism, cuisine, products, and services. It also aimed to enhance trade, investment, and tourism opportunities by stimulating demand for Thai goods and services in overseas markets. The event attracted more than 5,000 visitors over the two days.

 

The Embassy was honored to welcome Mr. Călin Mitri, Director General of the Global Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, as the Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony. He joined Ms. Panalee Choosri, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., and Mr. Tham Niamsakul, Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in Budapest, in officially opening the event. The ceremony was also attended by ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Romania, as well as representatives from the Romanian public and private sectors.

 

Visitors experienced the charm of Thai culture through performances of Khon, Thailand's classical masked dance drama, featuring the episodes Battle Scene and Hanuman Captures Benjakai. Khon is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The program also featured traditional performances representing various regions of Thailand, T-Pop performances by a Romanian dance group, and Muay Thai demonstrations by members of a Muay Thai gym in Romania.

 

On the culinary side, visitors enjoyed authentic Thai cuisine prepared by Tom Yum Thai Restaurant, watched live Thai cooking demonstrations by Chef Nissara, shopped for Thai products, experienced traditional Thai massage services, and sampled MAMA instant noodles, generously provided free of charge through the support of Thai President Foods Hungary.

 

At present, Bucharest is home to five Thai restaurants and two Thai food trucks:

1. Kunnai – 6–12 Copilului Street

2. Tom Yum – 23 Calea Victoriei

3. Isan Thai Kitchen – 26 Bulevardul Regina Elisabeta

4. Soi Thai 31 – 31 Aviatorilor Boulevard

5. Thaiger – 9B Șoseaua Fabrica de Glucoză

6. Thai Me Food Truck – 39 Bulevardul Dimitrie Pompeiu

7. Isan Thai Food Truck – 10 Căpitan Gheorghe Demetriade Street

 

Consumers in Romania can also purchase Thai seasonings and food products from Asian grocery stores and major modern retail chains across the country, including Asia’n Bucate, Oriental Market, Taste of Asia, Asia Market, Auchan, Mega Image, Metro, Kaufland, Lidl, and Carrefour. The growing availability of Thai products reflects the steadily increasing popularity of Asian cuisine—particularly Thai cuisine—among Romanian consumers.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy therefore warmly invites everyone to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at Thai restaurants in Bucharest and to support importers and distributors of Thai products in Romania.

The Royal Thai Embassy would also like to express its sincere appreciation to all visitors for contributing to the warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the event. เมื่อวันเสาร์และวันอาทิตย์ที่ 27–28 มิถุนายน 2569 สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูคาเรสต์ ร่วมกับสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ กรุงบูดาเปสต์ พร้อมด้วยผู้ประกอบการด้านอาหาร สินค้า และบริการของไทย จัดงาน Thai Culture and Culinary Weekend ณ ถนน Edgar Quinet ใจกลางกรุงบูคาเรสต์ เพื่อเป็นเวทีนำร่องในการเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย ส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว อาหาร สินค้า และบริการของไทย ควบคู่กับการส่งเสริมโอกาสทางการค้า การลงทุน และการท่องเที่ยว โดยมุ่งสร้างความต้องการสินค้าและบริการของไทยในตลาดต่างประเทศ โดยมีผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมงานกว่า 5,000 คน

 

ในโอกาสดังกล่าว สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้รับเกียรติจากนาย Călin Mitri อธิบดีกรม Global Affairs กระทรวงการต่างประเทศโรมาเนีย เป็นแขกเกียรติยศในพิธีเปิดงานร่วมกับนางสาวพนาลี ชูศรี อุปทูตรักษาการ และนายธรรม เนียมสกุล ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ กรุงบูดาเปสต์ โดยมีเอกอัครราชทูต สมาชิกคณะทูตานุทูตประจำโรมาเนีย ตลอดจนผู้แทนจากภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนของโรมาเนียเข้าร่วมพิธีเปิด

 

ภายในงานผู้เข้าร่วมงานได้สัมผัสเสน่ห์ของศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทยผ่านการแสดงโขนชุด ยกรบ และ หนุมานจับนางเบญจกาย ซึ่งเป็นศิลปะการแสดงชั้นสูงของไทยและได้รับการขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นมรดกภูมิปัญญาทางวัฒนธรรมที่จับต้องไม่ได้ขององค์การยูเนสโก (UNESCO) นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมจากภูมิภาคต่าง ๆ ของไทย การแสดง T-Pop โดยกลุ่มนักแสดงโรมาเนีย และการสาธิตศิลปะมวยไทยโดยนักมวยจากยิมมวยไทยในโรมาเนีย

 

ด้านอาหาร ผู้เข้าร่วมงานได้ลิ้มลองอาหารไทยแท้จากร้านอาหารไทย Tom Yum ชมการสาธิตการประกอบอาหารไทยโดย Chef Nissara เลือกซื้อสินค้าไทย รับบริการนวดแผนไทย และร่วมชิมผลิตภัณฑ์บะหมี่กึ่งสำเร็จรูป "มาม่า" ซึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนจากบริษัท ไทยเพรซิเดนท์ฟูดส์ ฮังการี โดยเปิดให้บริการแก่ผู้ร่วมงานโดยไม่คิดค่าใช้จ่าย

 

ปัจจุบัน กรุงบูคาเรสต์มีร้านอาหารไทยจำนวน 5 ร้าน และรถจำหน่ายอาหาร (Food Truck) อีก 2 แห่ง ได้แก่

3. Isan Thai Kitchen – ถนน Bulevardul Regina Elizabeta 26

นอกจากนี้ ผู้บริโภคยังสามารถเลือกซื้อเครื่องปรุงและผลิตภัณฑ์อาหารไทยได้จากร้านจำหน่ายสินค้าเอเชียและห้างค้าปลีกสมัยใหม่ (Modern Trade) ทั่วโรมาเนีย อาทิ Asia’n Bucate, Oriental Market, Taste of Asia, Asia Market, Auchan, Mega Image, Metro, Kaufland, Lidl และ Carrefour ซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความนิยมในอาหารเอเชีย โดยเฉพาะอาหารไทย ที่เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องในโรมาเนีย สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ จึงขอเชิญชวนทุกท่านร่วมลิ้มลองอาหารไทยแท้จากร้านอาหารไทยในกรุงบูคาเรสต์ และร่วมสนับสนุนผู้นำเข้าสินค้าไทยในโรมาเนีย
