เมื่อวันที่ 3 พฤศจิกายน 2568 สมเด็จพระราชินีมาร์กาเรต้า ผู้พิทักษ์พระราชบัลลังก์แห่งโรมาเนีย ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้เจ้าชายราดูแห่งโรมาเนีย พระราชสวามี เสด็จแทนพระองค์มายังสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูคาเรสต์ เพื่อทรงลงพระนามาภิไธยแสดงความอาลัยต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ณ ที่ทำการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ โดยมีนางสาวสุพัตรา เอื้ออารีย์ อุปทูตผู้รักษาราชการแทน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เฝ้ารับเสด็จ
ในการนี้ เจ้าชายราดูแห่งโรมาเนียได้ประทับยืนสงบนิ่งไว้อาลัยเบื้องหน้าพระบรมฉายาลักษณ์ของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง จากนั้น ทรงลงพระนามาภิไธยในสมุดแสดงความอาลัย ซึ่งสรุปเนื้อความตอนหนึ่งได้ว่า “ในพระปรมาภิไธยของสมเด็จพระนางมาร์กาเรต้า ผู้พิทักษ์พระราชบัลลังก์ และพระราชวงศ์แห่งโรมาเนีย ข้าพเจ้าขอแสดงความเสียใจอย่างสุดซึ้งต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ผู้ทรงเป็นแม่แห่งแผ่นดินที่ทรงพระปรีชาสามารถ และทรงอุทิศพระวรกายเพื่อประเทศชาติมาเป็นเวลากว่า 60 ปี”
อนึ่ง เมื่อปี 2559 สมเด็จพระราชินีมาร์กาเรต้า ผู้พิทักษ์พระราชบัลลังก์แห่งโรมาเนีย (เมื่อครั้งยังทรงดำรงพระอิสริยยศเป็นเจ้าหญิงมาร์กาเรต้า มกุฏราชกุมารีแห่งโรมาเนีย) ได้เคยเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูคาเรสต์ พร้อมด้วยพระราชสวามี เพื่อทรงลงพระปรมาภิไธยในสมุดลงนามและทรงวางพวงมาลาแสดงความอาลัยต่อการสวรรคตของพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตรด้วย

His Royal Highness Prince Radu graciously visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest to sign the book of condolence on the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand.
On 3 November 2025, Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, graciously designated His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania to represent Her Majesty in signing the book of condolence on the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand, at the Chancery of Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest. Ms. Supattra Auearee, Charge d'Affaires ad interim, and the Embassy's officials were present to receive His Royal Highness.
His Royal Highness observed a moment of silence before the portrait of Her Late Majesty The Queen Mother and signed the book of condolence. Part of the Romanian royal family's heartfelt condolence reads:
“On behalf of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Crown and the Royal Family, we convey to His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn and people of the Kingdom of Thailand our condolence on the very sad occasion on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of Thailand. A luminous personality, Mother of the Nation, Queen Sirikit gave for over 60 years, a perfect example of service to Her Nation."
In 2016, Her Majesty Margareta, then Princess Margareta of Romania, together with His Royal Highness Prince Radu visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest to sign a book of condolence and kindly laid a wreath before the portrait of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great of Thailand to offer condolences and pay deep respect on the occasion of His Late Majesty's departure.
