On 3 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest, together with the embassies of 13 Asian countries accredited to Romania, organized the 4th Asian Cultural Festival, aimed at promoting cultural exchange and fostering greater understanding and friendship between the Romanian people and the countries of Asia.
The festival featured a wide range of activities, including a national costume fashion show of traditional attire from participating countries, as well as an exhibition on the 8 Styles of Thai Traditional Dress, or “Chud Thai,” which have been nominated for inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The event also included activities for children and a presentation of Thai cuisine prepared at the Ambassador’s Residence, giving participants an opportunity to experience the flavours and culinary culture of Thailand.
The programme also featured a dance performance to “Bangkok City” by KT Kratae, presented by Talents Academy. The performance conveyed the fun and vibrant spirit of Bangkok, complemented by a contemporary Thai-inspired style featuring sabai draping paired with jeans.
On this occasion, Belfoods Romania, a distributor in Romania of “MAMA” instant noodles produced by Thai President Foods Public Company Limited, provided MAMA products for distribution to festival participants. This year’s festival attracted more than 800 attendees.
The 4th Asian Cultural Festival was another important occasion providing the Romanian public with an opportunity to learn about and experience the rich cultural diversity of Asian countries through food, traditional attire, art, and performances. The event also contributed to promoting people-to-people exchanges and further strengthening the bonds of friendship between Romania and countries across Asia.
