On 7 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Romania, met with Ms. Anna Riatti, Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Romania Office, and exchanged views on the work of UNICEF in Romania and Thailand. Both shared concerns on problems faced by the children, including child abuse, access to education and medical treatment, especially those who are affected by conflicts. They also discussed the organizational challenges and opportunities of UNICEF as a result of funding cuts and the reform of the UN system. The Thai Ambassador used this occasion to reiterate Thailand’s firm position in support of the UN and its commitment to multilateral diplomacy.

 

Later this year, both UNICEF and Thailand will celebrate their landmark occasions, the former for the 80th anniversary of its establishment and the latter for the 80th anniversary of its UN membership.

เมื่อวันที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2569 นายพืชภพ มงคลนาวิน เอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำโรมาเนีย ได้พบหารือกับ Ms. Anna Riatti ผู้แทนองค์กรกองทุนเพื่อเด็กแห่งสหประชาชาติ (ยูนิเซฟ) ประจำโรมาเนีย โดยทั้งสองได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวกับเด็ก รวมถึงการทำร้ายเด็ก การเข้าถึงการศึกษาและการรักษาพยาบาล โดยเฉพาะในพื้นที่ความขัดแย้ง นอกจากนั้น ยังได้หารือในประเด็นความท้าทายและโอกาสขององค์กรยูนิเซฟสืบเนื่องจากการลดงบประมาณและการปฏิรูปองค์การสหประชาชาติ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้ใช้โอกาสนี้ย้ำการสนับสนุนของไทยต่อองค์การสหประชาชาติ และการยึดมั่นในการทูตพหุภาคี

 

ทั้งนี้ ในปีนี้องค์กรยูนิเซฟและประเทศไทยจะมีการเฉลิมฉลองโอกาสสำคัญ โดยจะเป็นการฉลองครบรอบ 80 ปีแห่งการก่อตั้งองค์กรยูนิเซฟ และครบรอบ 80 ปี การเป็นสมาชิกของไทยในสหประชาชาติ
