On 26 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Romania, met with representatives of the National Company “Maritime Ports Administration” S.A. Constanta.

 

The meeting focused on opportunities to promote cooperation in maritime transport, logistics, and multimodal transportation, which would support supply-chain connectivity, trade, investment, and economic relations between Thailand and Romania.

 

The Port of Constanta is one of Romania’s largest and most strategically important seaports on the Black Sea and serves as an important logistics hub connecting trade between Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Asia. Through the Danube–Black Sea Canal, the port is directly linked to the Danube River and the wider European inland waterway network, strengthening its role as a strategic gateway for trade between Europe and international markets. These connections position Constanta Port as a potential “eastern economic gateway to the European Union” and an important maritime link providing access to the heart of continental Europe through the Rhine–Danube Corridor.

 

A key strength of the Port of Constanta is its multimodal/intermodal transport system, which integrates rail, road, waterway, air, and pipeline transportation. This enables efficient connections between maritime freight and Europe’s land-based and inland-waterway transport networks. In addition, the port is a multipurpose facility capable of handling a wide range of cargo, including agricultural products and grain, bulk cargo such as coal and iron ore, chemicals, containerized cargo, project cargo, crude oil and petrochemical products. It also has Ro-Ro berths and warehousing facilities, as well as Free Zone status, supporting its development as an important regional transit hub.

 

In recent years, the Port of Constanta has also played an important role in facilitating the transportation and export of grain and agricultural products from Ukraine under the EU–Ukraine Solidarity Lanes framework. This demonstrates the port’s capacity to accommodate and facilitate international freight transportation at times when transport routes face significant challenges.

 

For Thailand, the Port of Constanta represents another option for bringing Thai products into Central and Eastern European markets, particularly products in which Thailand has strong potential, such as agricultural and processed food products, manufactured goods, consumer products, as well as automotive parts and products. Going forward, the development of transport routes and logistics services that are tailored to the characteristics of the products, shipment volumes, and the needs of Thai businesses will be an important factor in improving efficiency and creating opportunities for trade and investment between Thailand and Europe through the Port of Constanta.

ท่าเรือคอนสตันซา เป็นหนึ่งในท่าเรือทางทะเลที่มีขนาดใหญ่และมีความสำคัญเชิงยุทธศาสตร์มากที่สุดของโรมาเนียในภูมิภาคทะเลดำ โดยทำหน้าที่เป็นศูนย์กลางด้านโลจิสติกส์ที่สำคัญในการเชื่อมโยงการค้าระหว่างยุโรปกลางและยุโรปตะวันออกกับภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลาง คอเคซัส และเอเชีย โดยมีคลอง Danube–Black Sea เชื่อมต่อท่าเรือกับแม่น้ำดานูบและเครือข่ายการขนส่งทางน้ำภายในทวีปยุโรป ทำให้ท่าเรือ Constanta มีศักยภาพในการเป็น “ประตูเศรษฐกิจด้านตะวันออกของสหภาพยุโรป” และเป็นจุดเชื่อมต่อเส้นทางการเดินเรือระหว่างประเทศเข้าสู่ใจกลางทวีปยุโรป ผ่านโครงข่าย Rhine–Danube Corridor

 

จุดเด่นสำคัญของท่าเรือ Constanta คือระบบการขนส่งหลายรูปแบบ (multimodal/intermodal transport) ซึ่งเชื่อมโยงการขนส่งทั้งทางรถไฟ ถนน ทางน้ำ ทางอากาศ และระบบท่อส่ง ทำให้สามารถเชื่อมต่อการขนส่งสินค้าทางทะเลเข้ากับระบบขนส่งทางบกและทางน้ำภายในยุโรปได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ นอกจากนี้ ยังเป็นท่าเรืออเนกประสงค์ที่สามารถรองรับสินค้าหลากหลายประเภท ทั้งสินค้าเกษตรและธัญพืช สินค้าเทกอง (bulk cargo) เช่น ถ่านหินและแร่เหล็ก สินค้าเคมี สินค้าตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ สินค้าขนาดใหญ่ (Project Cargo) ตลอดจนน้ำมันดิบและผลิตภัณฑ์ปิโตรเคมี รวมถึงมีท่าเทียบเรือสำหรับเรือ Ro-Ro และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกด้านคลังสินค้า ตลอดจนสถานะเขตปลอดอากร (Free Zone Status) ซึ่งเอื้อต่อการพัฒนาเป็นจุดเปลี่ยนถ่ายสินค้า (Transit Hub) ที่สำคัญของภูมิภาค

 

ในช่วงที่ผ่านมา ท่าเรือ Constanta ยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสนับสนุนการขนส่งและส่งออกธัญพืชและสินค้าเกษตรจากยูเครน ภายใต้กรอบ EU–Ukraine Solidarity Lanes สะท้อนถึงศักยภาพของท่าเรือในการรองรับและอำนวยความสะดวกแก่การขนส่งสินค้าระหว่างประเทศในภาวะที่เส้นทางการขนส่งมีความท้าทาย

 

สำหรับประเทศไทย ท่าเรือ Constanta นับเป็นอีกทางเลือกหนึ่งในการนำสินค้าไทยเข้าสู่ตลาดยุโรปกลางและยุโรปตะวันออก โดยเฉพาะสินค้าที่ไทยมีศักยภาพ อาทิ สินค้าเกษตรและอาหารแปรรูป ผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรม สินค้าอุปโภคบริโภค ตลอดจนชิ้นส่วนและผลิตภัณฑ์ยานยนต์ ทั้งนี้ การพัฒนาเส้นทางการขนส่งและบริการด้านโลจิสติกส์ให้สอดคล้องกับลักษณะสินค้า ปริมาณการขนส่ง และความต้องการของผู้ประกอบการไทย จะเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพและสร้างโอกาสทางการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างไทยกับยุโรปผ่านท่าเรือ Constanta
